Privacy Policy
5 Minutes is a meditation app built around one short daily session. We collect as little as possible.
What we collect
- Account. If you choose to save your progress, we store your email address to sign you in. Until then you use the app through an anonymous account (a random id, no personal details). If you opt in (a checkbox at sign-in, or the toggles in the app), we also use your email to send a newsletter and helpful tips — separate from sign-in, off by default, unsubscribe anytime.
- Your practice data. Your streak, total minutes, session completions, optional mood reflections, and reminder settings — so your progress is there when you return and syncs across devices.
- Purchase data. If you become a Member, our payments partner (RevenueCat, with Apple/Google) processes the transaction and tells us whether your subscription is active. We never see your card details.
- Basic diagnostics. Anonymous crash and performance data to fix bugs.
- Apple Health / Health Connect (optional, off by default). If you turn on “Save to Health,” each completed session is written to Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android) as a Mindful Session. We only write this entry — we never read your health data — and it stays on your device under your control.
We do not collect your contacts, location, microphone, photos, or advertising identifiers. We do not show ads and we do not track you across other apps.
How we use it
- To run the app: play your session, count your streak, send the daily reminder you asked for, and unlock Membership.
- To keep it working: diagnose crashes and improve reliability.
- Optional email you asked for: a newsletter and helpful tips. Off until you opt in, separate from sign-in codes, and every message has a one-click unsubscribe.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who processes it
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting (your account + practice data).
- RevenueCat / Apple / Google — subscription billing and entitlement status.
- Resend — email delivery (sign-in codes, and marketing email if you opt in).
- Diagnostics provider — crash/performance data, if enabled.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.
Notifications
If you enable the daily reminder, we schedule a local notification on your device. You can turn it off anytime in the app or your system settings.
Marketing email
Our newsletter and helpful tips are optional and off by default. You opt in with a checkbox when you sign in, or with the email toggles in the app. You can change your mind anytime — one click in any message (or the toggles in the app) unsubscribes you, with newsletter and tips controlled separately. Sign-in security codes are always sent regardless, and are kept separate from marketing. We never sell or share your address for anyone else’s advertising.
Apple Health & Health Connect
This integration is optional and off until you turn it on. When enabled, after each completed session we add a Mindful Session entry — its start time and duration only — to your device’s health store (Apple Health on iOS, Health Connect on Android). We never read any health data, and this is never used for tracking or advertising. You can turn it off anytime in the app, and you can manage or delete the entries directly in Apple Health or Health Connect.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your data. Email privacy@fiveminutes.day and we'll delete your account and practice data.
- Access / correct. Contact us to access or correct your information.
- Depending on where you live (e.g. EEA/UK GDPR, California CCPA), you may have additional rights to access, port, or erase your data; we honor these on request.
Data retention
We keep your practice data while your account exists. When you ask us to delete it, we remove it from our active systems within 30 days.
Children
5 Minutes is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy; we'll post the new effective date here and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
